WEEK 6

The preliminary presentation was a success and we got quality feedback on our project scope. We continued the brainstorming process by each individually taking the time to come up with some possible solutions, then bringing our ideas together. We discussed several broader designs and are exploring the benefits and drawbacks to each one. As we consider possibilities, we are keeping in mind the safety, strength, and simplicity of each one. We obtained modeling clay and sutures to test rudimentary prototypes. We also met with a Sling Health design review board to obtain some feedback about our problem definition and progress so far. We discussed the benefits of speaking to experts with different backgrounds than our team, like possibly veterinarians or dentists to add some creative perspective.

In the next week, we want to solidify our ideas into concrete, separate designs. We also are planning to do more research into specifics of the biomaterials and mechanics of our proposed designs.
