S2 WEEK 1
2/6-2/12
Project Status:
Last week we met with Dr. Felder to touch base on the project and our plan for the semester. We discussed that our solution from last semester would be a lot more effort to push through to market since it involves a very novel design. It would be easier to focus on optimizing the barbs for use with a mesh design, which would still address the same needs statement and project scope but be a little bit more comfortable and less risky to adapt. We will start by producing a few different 3D printed designs of barbs just to verify that our chosen barb from last semester is truly the most effective. We plan to test them on pig fascia in the next couple weeks. We are considering working with someone who is more qualified in solidworks or CAD once we get closer to a finalized design. We are also thinking about the various ways to incorporate modularity into the design.
Next Steps:
This week we are going to finalized the CAD designs and determine where and how to 3D print.
